SPEAKER_04: Hello, from Wonder Media Network, I'm Jenny Kaplan and this is Encyclopedia Wamanica. This bonus episode is brought to you by Fiverr. Every Saturday this month, we're talking to modern day feminists addressing issues that impact women today. As the COVID-19 pandemic changes the way we work, women across the country are trying to find ways to stay connected to their business networks. Today's modern day feminist is a long time community builder who provides resources and fosters lasting connections for the professional women in her area. SPEAKER_05: Hi, my name is Michelle Talbert. I am the founder of Her Power Moves and the chief curator of Her Power Space, a woman forward men welcoming co-working space here in Broward County, Florida. The Her Power community was started probably around 2015, 2014 as a way through podcasts, through workshops, through in-person and online communities to bring together women-owned businesses so they get the resources and information they need to succeed. One of the things that we've done recently is, we just opened our co-working space, Her Power Space, in January and it's been an incredible ride so far. And last month we began our collaboration with Fiverr, where we are bringing in speakers to talk with our community of side hustlers and solo entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses about topics that are really of interest to them. Last month we talked about networking, this coming week we've talked about legal issues for your business from idea stage to when you're ready to go out and get funding. And we will just continue to work with Fiverr to bring in the best speakers and information for our community as possible. SPEAKER_04: Even when we can't be physically together, communities don't need to disappear. In fact, we need community now more than ever. Michelle emphasized the importance of staying connected online too. Instagram's location-specific hashtags can allow small business networks to stay updated. Michelle also uses Instagram as a platform to highlight women-owned businesses every day. Providing this kind of recognition, as well as buying small, will continue to be important down the line. SPEAKER_05: I pray that this compassion for small businesses continues after this time. I think it's really important that we understand that businesses, whether we are in an economic bust or whether we are in an economic boom, the ecosystem for small businesses especially is very delicate. And so to be able to support one another after any crises emerges, I really hope will continue. SPEAKER_04: Thank you to Fiverr for sponsoring this month of Encyclopedia Wamanica.
