Bonus: Millana Snow, Leading Ladies in Wellness

Episode Summary

Milana Snow joins the Encyclopedia Wamanica podcast to discuss wellness and share her journey as a leading lady in the wellness space. Milana defines wellness as the alignment of the mind, body, spirit, and emotions in their natural state of wellbeing. She emphasizes that wellness is an individual journey that looks different for everyone. Milana's interest in wellness started at a young age when her grandmother introduced her to concepts like astral projection. This opened her mind to exploring her spiritual abilities beyond just the physical. Milana tries to maintain this childlike openness and curiosity. To prioritize her health, Milana has shifted her spending to invest in self-care like supplements, meditation classes, and courses. Her go-to supplements are ashwagandha for sleep and vitex berry for hormonal balance. Milana also recommends a simple 2-minute breathing exercise: inhale into the lower belly, inhale into the heart, exhale out. This check-in helps you connect the mind and body. Milana notes that many wellness techniques come from ancient cultures and lineages. As Westerners discover these tools, it's important to honor their origins and keep the work sacred. Wellness should be an individual journey, but rooted in respect for those who paved the way. Overall, Milana Snow provides thoughtful perspective on holistic wellness, the mind-body connection, and maintaining curiosity. She shares actionable self-care tips as a leading lady guiding others on their wellness journeys.

SPEAKER_07: Hi, my name is Milana Snow. I'm an energy healer and the founder of Wellness Official. So wellness for me personally, is the intersection of my mind, my body, my spirit and my emotional body as well. All being totally in alignment with its natural state of wellbeing. And so for me, that's my experience, but I believe that when we talk about wellness for any individual, it's about understanding what that is uniquely for you. And I just, I really always wanna let people know that wellness is your own individual journey. And we really would be remiss to compare that to anyone else. And so I encourage you to just find out what that is for you personally. So for me growing up, my grandmother, who is a hippie to this day, a real true hippie, she came to me when I was about four and said, did you know that you can astral project? And I said, what is that grandma? I don't know what that is. Well, you know that you can step out of your body as a soul, you're a soul. And she kind of walked me through that. And I was so young and I was just open to it. But I also tell that story because I think we all need to be like children. We need to be open. We need to be kind of starry eyed about the possibility of us being able to do things that we never even imagined, having a lived experience in our physical bodies, but also in spiritual and mental and emotional forms that we may never have explored before. And so that was the case for me. And I like to always try to give people that same invitation to explore it in that same way. I like everyone else have to constantly re-prioritize my health and wellbeing. That's always a balance that I'm seeking. But it took me a really long time to get to a point where I could actually have a lifestyle that could afford some of the self-care practices that I can do. And then also where I have prioritized my funds, where maybe just a couple of years ago, it was like no buying purses or jewelry. It was about buying really good supplements and meditation classes and courses. And so I prefer to take organic supplements when I can. And that's usually kind of what I recommend people to do. But Ashwagandha has been such a breakthrough for me because I was actually having trouble sleeping the end of last year. And getting on a regular daily dose of Ashwagandha has really been a big shift for me. I also take Vitex berry, which I find has been really, really influential in the balancing of my hormones to make sure that just my PMS is in check. That's always been an issue for me. I used to have birth control to kind of compensate for that. And now Vitex is just an all natural supplement. And I could not recommend that enough for any women that are having that same issue as well. There is something that I share with people every single time they ask me what they can do to just feel better. And that is to get in your body. We tend to not merge our body with our mind. And so one of my little hacks is literally just sitting, closing your eyes, taking a deep breath and with your mouth into your lower belly, set your belly balloons out. So just doing that proper deep breath into the lower belly. Then taking a second breath into the heart and then exhaling out and doing that on repeat for about two minutes. And literally just asking yourself as you breathe, how do I feel? And letting yourself drop down and actually feel it. So going beyond just the thinking of how you feel to actually the feeling of how you feel. If you do that every single day, you will just be mind blown by how much you put up with that you don't actually want to because you haven't checked in with how you feel and you've just been guided by what you think you should be doing. I think one of the things that a lot of people are mistaking with wellness these days is that these things that people are learning that they're new. The truth is they come from ancient lineages and cultures that have been doing this work before the English language even arrived on this planet. And so we really, as the Western world starts to discover these techniques and cool things to do to heal, we also need to keep in mind that we have to have respect and reverence, do our research and understand that this comes from cultures that have really kept this work sacred so that we could enjoy it. And so I think it's important for us to make sure that we continue keeping their work sacred. SPEAKER_06: I hope you found this special bonus episode of Encyclopedia Womanica as healing as I did.
